In 313, Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan,
with which he introduced Christianity as the official religion in Byzantium.
Queen Helena goes on pilgrimage to the places where Christ lived,
built several monasteries and discovered the cross on which Jesus was crucified.
These memorable events are considered the most important in the history of Christianity
church and therefore the emperor and his mother were canonized as saints.
